Cost to repair freeze damage
I am also thinking about a bank owned property in CT that claims freeze damage. It's a large house- 4000SF with 3.5 baths. I can see water damage in the drywall coming from the bath locations. I am assuming most if not all plumbing would have to be replaced to make sure we don't have a problem going forward. Not including drywall and all the other interior finishes that will need to be replaced- would 30-40k be an appropriate budget for plumbing?
Thank you.

A 4,000 sf house is a big house, but $30 to 40k to re-plumb a house that only has 3.5 baths with new hot/cold water piping sounds extremely high. The price will be driven by the number of fixtures and lengths of runs of piping, but I just can't imagine it costing it anywhere near $30 to $40k.
For a similar project for me in Kansas City, re-plumbing new water supply lines would be <$10k.
I think big risk is how much water damage, mold remediation, drywall patching, insulation, framing & other finishes needs to be replaced?
When in doubt though, it's always best to have a local contractor walk though the property and give you a price.
