New To Flipping/Buy and Hold

Hi everyone,

I am a full time IT Sales Professional that has done well for myself the last 5 years or so.  After my first condo purchase/rental, my appetite for RE Investments has grown considerably.  6months ago I bought my first 3 family from a rehab/flip someone else did as a buy/hold for myself.  For everyone's reference I currently own in Boston, MA and have an personal interest in that area as well as Portland, ME where I have family and friends living.

Now that I look through numbers I realize how much the person I bought from made off me because of my fear in committing to a gut and rehab project like this was.  I am becoming very interested in making RE my full time job, and feel like flipping a few properties will help grow net worth faster and give the ability to start buy/hold strategies while also flipping properties that make sense to sell instead of hold.

HOW DO I GET STARTED AS A FLIPPER?!

I have been considering HomeVestors as a franchisee, but it looks like an expensive entry point that with a little blood sweat and tears I could figure most of the moving parts out myself.  I grew up working on job sites, so am handy myself.  I have a few investments under my belt and am not a beginner.  I also make a pretty nice living with my W-2 job, but dont feel fulfilled working for shareholders and ungrateful clients.  How can I grow a RE business fast enough to replace my W-2??

Looking for advice, part and full time opportunities, and ultimately a way out of the traveling salesman role I have found myself in.

Thanks all for any input,

Trey

My wife and I prayed about it. I was a public school teacher in 2015 and had three deals under my belt. My full-time job was getting in the way of my Real Estate business. I hired a VA to answer my calls when I was at work but after saving about 6 months of pay I said "now is the time!" I haven't looked back. Our company flipped 24 houses last year and this is my new life. Commitment is as important as timing.
