HOME DEPOT AD - I'm confused

Does this ad make sense? Home Depot is currently running this Black Friday ad. The way I read it, there's up to 40% off on appliances, PLUS an additional instants savings up to $500 if you purchase multiple appliances. Above the ad it says when you buy 2 or more major appliances $498 or more.

QUESTION 1:  Does that mean each appliance must be over $498 or the sale needs to be over $498? So if you bought 4 appliances you should get $200 discount?

QUESTION 2:  It also states once you put them in your cart,  "Purchase any Stainless Steel Samsung REF, Range Built-in, MWO (OTR or CMO) Hood and Dishwasher and receive $150 off combined". Wouldn't  you think that if you purchased 4 Samsung appliances you would get the $150 Discount?

Obviously I have too much time on my hands today, but I was ordering Samsung appliance package and the most I could get them to give me for a discount was $100, and I wanted to see what I'm missing and I know you'll set it straight!

@Karen Margrave

When I first saw this Ad, I was confused too (or maybe I just got really excited and didn't fully comprehend because I thought I could save $500 on appliances lol.)  Anyway, I can only speak to Question 1.  The sale price needs to be over $498 (expect for over-the-range microwaves I believe that is anything over $248) in order to get the discounts.
