Smart home automation

I am curious if anyone has experience rehabbing to incorporate smart, internet-connected devices and what impact it has on resale value. I'm very interested in creating more autonomous homes to allow for easier living.

What are your thoughts on the advantages/disadvantages to incorporating more internet connectivity into the home. Will it increase resale value? Do more tech savvy homes sell faster? is it worthwhile, or should I just allow the future homeowner take on the project themselves through a third party?

Thanks for your help,

T

@Timothy Doyle no data to share, but I think the people who will value/use smart home automation the most are the ones who will want to tinker with/build their own system. Maybe when it gets more ubiquitous.....
