Bought my first condo: Found some mold
So.. On Friday I bought a Freddie Mac foreclosure condo. The bathroom had some water damage (was told my the listing agent the toilet had a leak) but didn't look too bad. The previous owner had installed laminate flooring in the bathroom and it came up, the vanity had some water damage, and the wall had some mold.
I figured no big deal, just a bit of drywall and some bleach will take care of it. I get to demo today, and I found the wall on the opposite side of the toilet has mold growing on the drywall paper. Took out about 5 inches of drywall across three feet and the wall feels solid everywhere else except where the drywall meets the fiberglass tub/shower combo. I punched a hole in the soft drywall and found a very small amount of mold.
I'm curious as to what the best way to deal with this is. I'm guessing I will have to demo out more drywall and then just spray down the studs with some bleach/water? In the area where most of the damage is the studs have some surface mold but are otherwise solid.
Thank you in advance!
