Bout a house for back taxes tax certificate

Needs repairs.Back deck rotton,kitchen floor rotton as well.Do i have to hire a contractor or can do myself.And get credit for it i they redeem it after 3 years

You dont do anything , its still their house until they pay you the back taxes with interest , if they dont then you have to file for right of redemption

@Theorun Maxwell how did this turn out? Did the taxpayer redeem? Did you do any repairs during the tax certificate period or did you take the advise of Matthew from Maryland speaking on AL taxes.  I’m curious as to the outcome!!
