Trees with roots showing near the house

We are currently looking at a home with two mid size trees about 20' off the back of the home. One has a good amount of roots showing and show have even pushed up a brick patio on the back of the home ( about 3 inches). Wanted to ask to see if anyone has encountered this before, what they did to remedy the situation, approximate costs, or should we just let this one go? Thanks for your input
