No Mean City! This is a marketing campaign that was created by a group of people looking to better themselves, others, and their community around them by attracting a diverse group of people that would want to live in their area, Indy, which is in Marion County. The people that started this campaign all have a common love of their city and have come from various backgrounds. These people coming together show all of the variety that Indy has to offer by explaining exactly what they love and tend to do in the city. This campaign also focuses on people that have lived in the city and how they can get them to come back into Indy. There are many different positives about living in Indy that are outlined on the website. These different subject areas include anything from schools and education to homes for sale in the areas, and neighborhood guides. These are just a few of the options that No Mean City has pinpointed on their website and throughout their campaign. This has been a very successful campaign because of the marketing no social media. There are many people that are behind this campaign, and with the support of the town Mayor, Greg Ballard, and the members of this group, it will always flourish and continue to grow.

Key Takeaways:

  • People with otherwise nothing in common blend well in No Mean City.
  • No Mean City is a marketing campaign created to solve the issue of the city attracting employees for work but not living and spending money.
  • there is power in promotion campaigns to draw business in.

"This project sought to peel off the city’s humble Midwestern layer and reveal its “true grit,” according to Molly Chavers, executive director of IndyHub, which co-created the campaign."
