Do you use a wireless alarm on your vacant properties?

I was looking at the the Skylink sc-1000, and the cheaper Mace system. They both can dial your cell phone when the alarm is triggered.

However, when I called Skylink customer support, they said I needed a land line in the house for the alarm to work.

Obviously there's not going to be any phone service in a vacant house.

I was wondering what other people do in this situation? I don't know if I should just forget the idea of an alarm, or use another product. I don't want the alarm to be triggered, and not know about it.

Check out Lasershield. You will have to get the Lasershield Cyclone which is a wireless monitoring tool that uses the cellular network. Monitoring cost $30 a month.
