Proper Mold Remediation
Hi, my wife and I are in contract to buy a two family home - we'll be living in one unit, and renting out the other. As part of the condition of sale, the sellers were required to have a mold inspection completed, and have any issue remediated. The inspection showed a Chaetonium count of M3-293 (they note this as significantly higher than outside air) and the % of Total was 80.1% (they note this as a radio abnormality - anything over 25% "may indicate the presence of abnormal levels of mold"). The sellers did not bring in a licensed remediator - they brought in a contractor, who treated the area (a wood area, I believe) with "germicide and a bleach solution". I know nothing about mold remediation, but this sounds...wrong. Any advice or information about how a situation like this should be handled would be greatly appreciated.
