Granite by the Slab Deal in Metro Detroit Area?

I am looking to renovate the kitchen in one of my rentals in Royal Oak, MI. I thought about checking out one of those deals advertise in billboards, etc about $1400-$1500 per slab of granite. Have anyone used one of those deals? What is the catch? Any you would recommend?
