Door into garage conversion

Hi guys, bought a house for flip and they had converted half of a house length garage into a room. The odd part is that the room entry is right off the front entryway where there's a tiled landing. So the garage is a full step down from that after you open the door and the door is hanging awkwardly when opened in the room. I was thinking of expanding the step down to make more of a landing into the room and less awkward, but don't want to take up much real estate. Any recommendations?

BTW the only way to make it one step is to remove the landing, but that can only be done by moving the front door out and extending the staircase.
