Rehab this for newbie
What's the best practice when looking at a rehab or shell?. Recommend walking with contractor before buying and what's the best way to figure out rehab cost? For buy and hold

You might be better partnering with someone that has more experience. Estimating rehab costs is something that comes with time and experience. Bringing a contractor through is one way to estimate rehab but getting just one contractors opinion is not always the best. I always try to get three quotes for any job when hiring out something I don't already have someone for but getting three GC's through the property might not be feasible. Like I said maybe look for a mentor or partner to help you if this is your first time.
