Updating a 1950s Bath
Hey Everyone,
We just bought a Fannie property in good shape that we will be using as a long term hold and renting. The house has been updated except for the baths. I have seen a lot of these baths but never owned a house with one and I don't know what my options are for updating. It is classic 50s with tile all the way around. This is in an area where rents are higher and people expect somewhat updated kitchens and baths. So, here is a picture. Can you give me some ideas here? Should I rip the tile out or can it be painted? Also, what about the old heaters? They are not used anymore and overhead HVAC was installed. Can those just be ripped out and covered over? Any other tips would be appreciated. I'm just trying to get some ideas so that I am armed with information to be able to hire the right contractor. Thanks.
