business strategy: Marketing for deals OR buying from wholesaler

Hey guys,  I couldn't seem to find an existing poll or thread on this so I thought I'd ask and see if others can benafit too.

I know some ppl have been in this game for a lonnng time.  For the old timers, do you prefer marketing for your own deals, or buy from wholesalers?

I started pondering this when the past several wholesale deals I've looked at were not even close to good deals and flirt with the idea of marketing for my own deals again.

For long term, we all want to automate systems, and buying from a wholesaler seems like a viable option, but then again there are no reasons why we can't automate our own marketing as well just as the wholesaler does, and spend a bit less than $10k of what a wholesaler is taking from the deal.
