Baltimore County Building Permitting Application
BP Rehabber's in Baltimore County, Maryland:
Do you have any tips for applying for / what to bring to the permitting office when obtaining a building permit in Baltimore County?
I'm about to apply for one on a rowhome we just completed gutting in Dundalk (County). I'm new to the permitting process and want to be prepared before going in. I have, however, dealt with Baltimore County inspections and codes and have been exposed to permitting on a fairly large new addition project, but that was over 10 years ago and I was not the one who pulled the permit. I am very well versed in most aspects of construction and rehab I just don't know what goes into obtaining the permit. A licensed master plumber and electrician will obviously take care of their respective permits, so I'm not as concerned about those, I just don't know much about the building permit application requirements on a rehab / gut.
I'm not doing the work myself -- it will all be subbed out. I'm working with a licensed GC to do framing and some other odds and ends, but I want to be familiar with the permitting process myself since my partner and I are in the process of spinning up our own GC company and obtaining an MHIC license.
Appreciate any info and guidance you may have. Especially from @Todd S., Terry Royce, and J. Scott.
Thanks.
