Inheriting run down properties

hi everyone, I need some advice. I'm not a homeowner but want to get into real estate investing in the near future. However I am likely going to inherit two houses and one lot, all adjacent to each other. The houses likely need to be gutted and remodeled. I'd like to hold onto them and use them for income but don't know where to get started. What advice do you have? Thank you!
