New Water Line
Had a slow leak that didn't stop when everything in house was turned off, incl toilets at the wall. Galvanized pipe supplying house is probably close to 60 +/- years old so is very corroded. I couldn't put compression couplings on it so decided to replace service line to house. Hand dug the 27' trench (yes, that's right and I'm 61 y/o) but now need to go under concrete footing of house (pier & beam). Already down over 12", keep digging or go through the concrete?

The water lines in one of my duplexes was replaced before I bought it. They actually used a horizontal boring machine so the concrete didn't have to be broke up. No idea what it cost but I'm sure it was cheaper than removing the old concrete, putting in new concrete, down time, new flooring etc.
Digging the trench yourself at 61? You get the over-achiever award for the year! Woo hoo! What we do as landlords to save money!
