Interested in a possible deal, but...

I have found what I think to be a potential first deal but I need advice from other experienced investors.  The house I am looking at has been redone and cosmetically looks great.  This was a foreclosure that had been renovated.  There was a contract on it but the buyers backed out because the house failed inspection for plumbing and electrical issues.  The electrical was due to 1970 aluminum wiring and I do not know what the plumbing issues are.  I think it is backup in the sewer line.  My question is such:  Would it be worth it to fix these issues if the house is purchased at the right price or would most people just walk away?
