how to find properties to flip?

im really having trouble finding properties to flip.  i have tried direct mail twice.  

first time- ran out of funds to continue mailing..

second time-  it worked better but my end result still stunk. im not sure if my investors were too picky or what exactly the problem was. but i could not find anyone who was desperate enough to sell

I will be trying my third attempt soon, but i wish i could get results sooner instead of having to wait 6 months out.

suggestions?
