How much capital to have starting out?

Hello BPs,

I am planning to start my real estate investing career in the coming years. Curious what people think is a good amount of money to begin this path with.

Location will not be an issue. I will be able to relocate to any city or state that has a good investing market.

Lets assume I will begin with smaller cheap starter homes.

Also, lets assume I have no debt and a morgate(s).

So how much money safely should I save up before jumping in the water?

Thanks for your advice!

@Sinaloa Paisa

There is no set amount. I was working at my Controller position at a local company, 13 years ago. I had little accessible savings, most savings, like a lot of people, was in IRA's, 401Ks. 3 kids in private school. Just getting along. Had just enough cash to buy a very "cheap" house. Fixed it up ourselves, got it rented. Snowballed from there.

By the way, if you keep saying "in the coming years" you will never.................

Go buy a cheap house, fix it up, and rent it.
