Stucco texturing costs

How much should I expect to pay to get a stucco house partially or completely textured? The house is a single story ~1000 sqft SFH located in Sacramento.

Background:

It looks like a previous owner had stucco repairs done after replacing all the windows. Unfortunately they used a textured stucco on all the repairs despite the house originally having smooth finish. As a result, all the windows have two feet of texture going around them, as well as various patches around the house. It looks hideous (Which was a plus when buying for deal).

Our painter, which gives a great deal for painting, quoted us ~3000 for labor an supplies to do the texturing. This seems high to me, and I'm guessing they might just be overbidding since that isn't something they normally do.
