Rehabbing with Occupied Units

Quick question for BP. What's your approach to rehabbing a multi-family property while the units are occupied? Let's say you just bought a fourplex in need of cosmetic repairs (no structural improvements needed) that's fully occupied. Are most tenants receptive to having their unit improved while they're still living in that unit? Is there an approach you've found effective to make it a win/win situation? After all, you're making their home much nicer with the improvements but tenants also don't like a rehab project they have to temporarily live through. Thanks in advance for your feedback!
