This is an older article from Builder magazine which Bloomberg linked to in a story earlier today Building a new house under $200K is getting difficult in most places!

Since my houses mainly go for $100k-$120K I'm very interested in the starter home buyers and knowing that it is very difficult for buyers to find new houses in the same ball park as my rehabbed houses is a good thing.

Right now the closest new houses competing with me are in the $160K range, but they are 2-400 square ft smaller and unlike many of mine, none of them have brick exteriors.
