3/1 property vs 3/2 property

Just purchased my first property and trying to decide if I should convert an oversized laundry room to a walk in closet or into master bathroom. If i convert it to a master bathroom is it possible to have just a shower and sink and a pass through door to current bathroom for a shared toilet?

I've got a 3/1 that has been sitting for a while (not Atlanta area).  Similar sized 3/2s are selling within a few weeks.  Obviously that is different from @Jeff Copeland

 experience.  So I think like in all things Re related it depends on your location.
