Basement Income Property - Egress Requirements
I live in Salem, MA and recently purchased a single family home with a great potential for an income suite in the basement. The basement already has a separate entrance that is accessible from the sidewalk. What is the typical requirements for emergency egress? Reading through the building code, it appears that (1) egress (main door) is suffiecient. Does anyone have input on any issues that I may encounter?
Thanks in advance!

Building codes and how they are enforced vary from location to location.
That being said a window or other means of egress(door would work) is generally required in every bedroom. There are size minimums.
