Dated Linoleum - HD Allure Vinyl Planking - Remove old or just put Planking over old?

House I'm buying has dated linoleum in Kitchen.  I want to put down some inexpensive flooring.  From BP postings - HD Allure seems like the best - how much per sq feet and What's best?  Does HD have sales on Allure very often?  Can I just put it over the old stuff?  Old stuff seems like it is in ok shape.

Any hacks for making this job easier?  I think - One person said to make sure I bring it to room temperature before installing.

Also, Cabinets are a little old, thinking about just cleaning them up with some wood polish though - maybe line the insides.  Was thinking about painting them but that sounds like some work/cost.

Make sure there are no holes or tears in the linoleum (Allure needs a flat surface).  If none, lay it on top.   The box will tell you how much square foot each box has.  There tends to be little waste (we use the Allure with the glue strip, not the "click" Allure).  

If holes in the linoleum, attach luan over the linoleum for a flat surface to lay the Allure on. Don't attempt to pull the linoleum up or you'll drive yourself crazy trying to get the glue up.

Unfortunately, it goes on sale during Black Friday and right before Christmas (99 cent sale); likely through now.  If you purchase 10 percent off Lowes coupons through ebay they are accepted at Home Depot.  I also purchase Home Depot gift cards through Raise.com and Cardpool.com at 9 to 10 percent off their face value and couple these with the coupons.  

It can be used in kitchens.  Looks great.
