Ozone generators

Does anyone have experience with ozone generators? I see reviews where people swear by them. I see hotels use them. But the EPA website says they are not effective.

Do not use an ozone generator in an occupied space. They can be quite hazardous and cause illness. If there are odors present, try to eliminate the source of the odor. Hire someone to professionally clean your carpets. Also, there are hydroxyl generators that are more expensive but they are safer and they can be used in an occupied space.
