Turning a SFR into a Duplex.

I am looking at a property that is 2,800 sq. ft., in that neighborhood it is oversized.

Is turning this property into a MFR "ever" a viable strategy?

My first impression is the electric and plumbing, walls, etc. could be an enormous expense.

Is this a bad idea?
