Smart phone controlled locks?
Anyone use smart phone controlled locks?
The logging feature and key sharing seem like they could be handy on a renovation house that has a lot of contractors coming and going.
- "The Goji Smart Lock keeps track of who comes in and goes out. But it also takes the logging feature one step further by taking a picture of whoever is at the door and sending it to your iOS or Android phone, whether you’re home or not. If you want the person to come in, you can unlock the door from wherever you are. The Goji lets you text your key to others and set up the times those keys will function."

It's a great concept, and I'll be installing something similar in my personal residence in the near future. The big problem I see with using this particular product (and many of these technologies) on investment properties is that most investment properties don't have wireless Internet available during construction/renovation.
And because most technology developers don't have investors in mind when developing the products, there generally isn't a non-WIFI solution available -- when there is, it's often cost prohibitive. I see the exact same problem in the portable alarm and portable monitoring system product markets.
Obviously, the WIFI problem will fix itself in the next few year (it will be ubiquitous), but until then, I haven't decided if the cost of installing WIFI in every rehab is worth the technology gains...it's certainly very close!
