So sick of paneling and wallpaper

Every house I go into is a flask back to 1970. Didn't these people think about updating to get into the 1990's.

I would much rather have holes in the walls and bas paint jobs to deal with than paneling and wallpaper.

Also I hate hate hate painted paneling. It just looks so bad and cheap. It will just cost me more time and money on labor to rip out all of it and to peal off that hideous flower wallpaper. I should just buy a steamer and get on with it.

People its not that much to just rip it all out and give someone an updated house. I will always take it out.

I agree that paneling is dated and ugly. I have removed it when there's little to no glue holding it on. If it's heavily glued, you need to either remove the paneling and drywall underneath (been there done that), or paint it. For rentals, I usually paint over it. If you get your primer tinted the same color as your paint, it's not a bad job. I wouln't want it in my house, but it's fine for a rental.

As far as wallpaper, I hate it. If I ever meet the guy who invented wallpaper, I will beat him like he owes me money. I don't care if he's 90, sitting in a wheelchair, and has war medals on his chest.
