Foundation Issue / Basement Finish

Hello everyone, 

I am looking at a home to purchase with a unfinished basement. However, there is evidence of foundation repairs. I want to hire a structural engineer to give the repair the green light and If I buy I would like to keep it for a long term investment (10+ years) as it is in a good area. Anyway, do any of you have experience with finishing basements with these beams? should I just leave the basement alone? There is a 3/4 bathroom already down there so it has the rough in piping.
