HVAC New Install estimates

Anyone have experience with New HVAC estimates? Looking at offering on a house but need to bring it into the 21st century and HVAC is on the list. Haven't talked to any GC's yet, just trying to get an idea of what to expect. This would be for for a 4 bd 2 ba 2800 sq ft. New AC unit and ducts ran throughout. I'm planning on opening walls already to replace electrical so that is figured in. In Central Illinois if that helps. 2 hours south of Naperville.

So you're running all new ducting too? Wow....that will be expensive, even with sharing the cost with electrical. You're probably talking $15k at least...

I would strongly suggest looking at a mini-split system. Much more efficient and no need for ducting. IF you can get away from ducting, that will be a plus....the return air registers must be pretty specifically located as well as a lot of the supply side. Since this is not a new build, you will probably find yourself having to build chases to hide ducting, and that is a mess.

Mini-split for this one....
