I got awarded tax certificate for a vacant lot next to my property.  I highly doubt it will get redeemed.  How do I convert certificate to eventual ownership and time process.  Please share your experiences in City of Chicago. Thanks.

You'll need to petition the court for a tax deed. There are many statutory deadlines for notices and actions that need to filed, so I highly highly recommend engaging with an attorney, such as @Emmett R. McCarthy.

Depending on the type of certificate, its likely going to be 1+ years before you get the deed.
