Chicago Meetups & Networking in the Age of COVID-19

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to cast a line out there and get a sense for how everyone is doing in regards to networking. I am currently in the process of relocating to the Chicago area and am interested in expanding my network. Going in, I'd be ecstatic to hear how you guys have been networking effectively under the current economic climate and tips for shifting towards networking virtually. Any compelling Chicago-based meetups or REIAs that you'd recommend? Any with a lean towards analysis/valuation? What about House Hacking/Multifam?

While I'd be interested in your experiences, I thought I'd share mine as well.. I've been networking in the Finance space and have found that folks in my field have been extraordinarily receptive in these unusual times. To date, I have spoken with various professionals in the Chicagoland space and gathered valuable information about the work culture of the city. It has been incredible to see people lend each other a hand and form connections that may not have been made pre-COVID.

Feel free to reach out if you'd like to connect on LinkedIn as well.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from y'all! Cheers.

Bryan

@Bryan Calzadilla welcome to the Chicago area! There are plenty of great meetups in Chicago that are still running virtually on zoom. You can find them here on BP on the "network" tab. I run one that normally meets in the near western suburbs, @Brie Schmidt runs one on the north side, @John Casmon runs one in the city, and there are so many more. You should also check out the Chicago specific podcast that @Mark Ainley started recently here
