Newbie Looking to Invest in Chicago Market

Calvin Lipscomb Jr

Posted

Hi All! I am a new member to BP and I live in the Richmond, VA area. I am getting into the small multi-family investment area (5-20 units) and am interested in making new connections. My goals are to complete a deal in the Chicago area (looking to buy and hold) and to begin a rehab/renovation project as well.  I am interested in learning more about connecting with the right lenders to obtain financing for deals and general investment information in the Chicago market. I am looking forward to networking and connecting with people in this forum!

@Calvin Lipscomb Jr There’s only so much you’re going to learn on here and the majority of individuals on this site don’t even go into those areas. “Don’t go further west because of crime” is a very broad generalization that I see is misleading you already. There’s plenty of crime in south shore, while there are areas immediately west of there that are nicer than some suburban neighborhoods. Fly here, drive around, and get a feel for the areas you’re about to invest in.
