Split Face Block Opinions?

Hello,

I'm interested in the community's opinion regarding split face block multi family properties.  Has anyone decided not to invest in these properties due to concern around moisture penetration?  Any patterns observed with regards to moisture penetration in these newer buildings?  Any buyer beware advice?  Or is this whole thing easily (if expensively) addressed through routine application of sealers?
