Local Real Estate in Chicago and Carbondale, 60629 and 62901
Hello,
I am a new member here, but i have been a follower for a while. I am currently in the works of buying in Carbondale and after that Chicago where my family resides. I am interested in starting a discussion about the local real estate markets in these two areas. Yes, they are 5 hours apart, but these are my markets for the next 3 years. Hopefully, this post reaches locals or even interested people. I will make sure to keep this post updated on my experience.
My plan is to create a management company in Chicago and possibly Carbondale if the rental is successful and area prosperous. The rent brings in 1.6% of purchase price, but afer repairs it will be 2%. My estimates are backed by local comps. I have a great location close to campus.
