Handyman recommendations- Chicago and Greater Area

Sheena M.
Posted

Does anyone have any recommendations for an on-call handyman who can do various maintenance projects around a property e.g., such as painting, moving, repairs, updates for a multiunit residence? Located starting in Evanston, but later expect in Chicago and surrounding areas.

@Sheena M. this is the single hardest member of your team to find as most of the "good" handymen don't advertise much online. They also don't tend to need more business since a handful of owners can provide a steady flow of easy work. I would start looking on Facebook, craigslist, and maybe at a local meetup or two. Most of my guys were found via word of mouth, but like I mentioned earlier, they don't really advertise at all. I also don't really ever get quotes for anything since this is more or less an ongoing relationship (almost a part time job at some points).
