Contractor Ghosting? Need recommendations!

Hi All,

I'm writing to see if anyone else has had issues with non-responsive contractors in the last year. I'm in the Denver metro area, and I understand that it is a tough market and they get to pick and choose their projects, but what I am very surprised by is the fact that we have been ghosted by 4 different contractors in the last few months. These are also people that came through recommendations, so it is particularly surprising. The last guy even said "Sorry to hear you've been ghosted, I will DEFINITELY NOT do that to you guys. I will have a quote to you by Monday." That was months ago. Luckily this was for an optional project for our home kitchen that can wait. However, now I have some projects that I really want to move on for my rental property since a tenant moved out.

Does anyone have advice on finding a reliable contractor? I mean, I'll even go for one that isn't very good, but at least calls back and shows up! haha

Thanks in advance!
