Recommendations for Property Manager/PMC for two buildings

Greetings, 

I am looking for a PMC or a hands on property manager for few residential buildings in the Walnut Creek vicinity, We have had less than great results with several companies. High fees and mediocre hands-on management. 

We would like to start with two buildings and add more properties after a review period. 

We would appreciate any suggestions.
