Offer with walk through contingency

I have heard David Green mention on several podcasts that he puts an offer with contingency for a walkthrough.

Are there any rules that apply to that kind of offer like:

1. How many days do you get to see the house

2. Should the offer be worded in a certain way

Etc etc?

Anyone who has done this any advise?

@Kinju Dudhia yes, this is typically the inspection period.  The length is usually negotiable.  Your agent will guide you on this.
