Create More Value Than You Capture
Just finished listening to a podcast featuring Tim O'Reilly. One of the interesting things he said was that we need to move away from the "maximizing shareholder value" culture that nearly brought our economy down and move towards an economy that creates value.
This is a slight improvement on Zig Ziglar great quote “You will get all you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want.” Zig's quote is foundational principle of my real estate investing, but I'm thinking of upgrading now.
What do you think? Is creating more value than you capture a good business model? Or is it only for chumps?
