Investing OOS or Not

I was having a chat with my wife about potential markets for investing and we got onto an interesting topic.  Would you invest out of your local market for the same returns as your local market?  We are in the Phoenix market and the returns on buy and hold are not super great at the moment, however the question is should we consider a market that will yield the same returns?  If so, what would be some reasons you would do it.

Hi Stone,

I would not.  What's the point?  More work more time spent more risk for no benefits. I understand that some may argue because that new area is growing and up and coming and could yield more down the road.  That is a bigger risk in my opinion. You don't know if it will or not. That's a big risk for the unknown.  If I want to find an up and coming area.  I would do that in my local market.  There is no right or wrong here.  This is what works for me.
