Burning the ships, again

Good morning BP! I had the opportunity, when I first started wholesaling, to quit my job on the back of my first deal which netted me 8 month’s salary. That was plenty, and was able to close another deal immediately after. I was rolling, with two more hot leads within sight. But then distractions and comfort came. (I blame only myself)I had a significant other who at the time commanded loads of attention and I thought “well, I’m a baller now... I guess it couldn’t hurt to start living the life?” Boy, was I wrong! I started “dressing for the life I wanted not the one I had”. Yeesh... fast forward, I was homeless within 3 months. The funnel dried up, the hot leads turned cold... I was able to pick myself back up and have been doing deals consistently for about a year, just not at the speed I’d like to. All the proceeds have gone to all the debt I’ve accrued, the home I lost during recent storms and Maria relief... Would you burn the ships again, hindsight being 20/20?

Nope, don't burn the ships - yet. That's a great saying for gurus from the front of the room, not a practice for real life.

Congrats on all your successes and your tremendous life lessons. Now use what you've learned and jump into real estate investing the right way this time. Follow those who are successful, emulate the ones you want to be like, and work hard every day. I don't know of another industry that creates the tremendous rewards real estate investing does, but you have to work for it.

Here's wishing you tremendous real estate investing success!
