Most Americans' middle class lifestyle is often financed by debt.

The middle class lifestyle is often financed by debt.

"Americans are holding a fantasy view of their piece of the American dream\middle class membership. Their membership in the middle class is based on a perceived membership gain by consumer activities such as shopping… the brand of the car they drive… and other status symbols they feel reflect their values in membership in the middle class".

Why are we limiting this to the middle class? People of all classes and businesses of all sizes use debt and credit.

I think this is an oversimplification of things that doesn't benefit anyone (except Dave Ramsey).
