Quick training/certificates for immediate jobs

So we have tons and tons of post about people talking and asking about should they go to college?  There is the back in the fourth and the back and the fourth, etc. etc.. That is not what this post is about. Of course we don’t mind a little bit of action. :-)

What I’d like is some ideas that parents can use and I guess younger people can use as well. Ideas such as what are  Very focused certificates or training that young people can do in order to get a base income very quickly.

For example, a person can go to  a 10 —-13 week school for dental assistant… finish the course get a certificate and have an immediate job making somewhere around 43k plus.. yeah I know it’s not a ton of money, but it’s a good base especially for folks that don’t want to go to college. There’s a lot of parents and I’m one of them that have children that probably don’t wanna go and spend 4 to 6 years in college.

Any ideas or experience that you have seen or done would be great.  Preferably something that will not take longer than a year and will actually have jobs waiting at the end. Also, something that preferably a person would not have to do a lot of traveling… an example of that would be a fast welding course that would get you a welding gig, but a person would need to travel in many cases.

PS I’m all for buying real estate , but we know that having a  job can be a blessing for many people starting out. A person can have a mid grade job and still be able to invest in real estate. Many people do not want to work their regular jobs forever so why should they have to go to school forever? Also, please no 100% commission based suggestions because that is not the aim of this post.
