18 year old that is new to real estate.
My name is Gavin. I just turned 18 a couple months ago and while I do work a 9-5 job, it is my dream to not have to do this forever. I have dabbled in real estate a little but haven’t made any serious moves. I honestly do not where to start, who to have as a partner, or what type to invest in. Overall, I just have decision paralysis. I also need to get some of my ducks in a row before I start (or I feel that I do at least). It would be nice to have someone to partner up with if possible or just someone that could offer me advice on this path to financial freedom. I plan to create a diverse portfolio by some point in my life but feel that the best investment so far to start in is real estate. My main plan to use real estate for is to eventually generate passive income. However, there are so many options, it almost scares me… Some options I have to be an actual agent and some I don’t. I just want help or advice on building it from the ground up and not getting overwhelmed by all the options at once and take baby steps towards the bigger picture. I am currently reading the bigger pockets book “how to invest in real estate for beginners”.

Quote from @Jonathan Greene:
You are watching too much content on social media. You are 18, just chill. You shouldn't be talking about leaving your first real job as an adult already, that's a Lamborghini hope with a Yugo foundation. Also, you don't have analysis paralysis, you are only 18 and you just don't know enough yet to have the confidence to know which direction to go in.
Go to real estate meetups every month for a year. You will learn more and build relationships and you will stop blaming yourself for having no direction when you are only 18! Lots of don't find our real path until way later. And PS, keep your job as long as you can. It's how you will make money and stay lendable.
You’re right, I do lust after fake social media sometimes and I’m am trying to get away from my phone as much as I can. I will attend this meetings and keep my job and I think I feel a little better about it because of what you said. You’re right, I am only 18 and Rome was not built in a day. I also do plan to keep my job and I plan to slowly learn about it until I do know enough.
