I am looking at possibly getting a rental in the sketchiest parts of East Oakland. Just seeing if anyone else has experience renting in East Oakland. Did you property manage? How bad was it? Were you able to find good tenants?

Don't be "scrrrrrdddddd" of the sketchiest part of East Oakland. I bought a duplex in 94621 The sketchiest part of Oakland.....and was astounded when last weekend I discovered that a neighbor exactly two houses down from me is killing it with AirBnb. She's getting rave reviews by renting out a small downstairs studio that she says if you are taller than 6'1" you won't be able to stand up straight...........and she doesn't even have a driveway!!  Another person just a few blocks from me is also absolutely crushing it with his Airbnb in "The Hood" by putting "A Tiny House" on his (very) small lot on his property and is advertising The Tiny House Experience.
