House Hacking Australia

Hi all, currently I'm living in Adelaide, Australia.

I'm renting a unit close to the city and was considering buying my first house but during the process of looking for houses I found out about house hacking and I'm extremely interested in this strategy. Wondering if this would work well in Australia? I wouldn't mind renting out 2 rooms in a 3 bedroom house.
